New works in our bedroom

What a difficult month September has been!
Work in the office and out of the office – guided tours "non-stop" – is absorbing us, and we need to stop and start scheduling the steps for the house... But most importantly, we need to start packing boxes!
Soon, we’ll have to move! Between one busy weekend and the next, we’ve gone down to Emilia twice. Now, the priority is the interior of our future home. It’s time to work on the ceilings and wooden inserts for the lintels and staircases. The liters of anti-termite treatment are countless, and some beams – especially those in our future bedroom – are soaking it up in large quantities!
It was in this room that we received a disappointing discovery, which later turned into an opportunity to highlight a strong feature. When it came time to clean the only "salvageable" stone wall, Daniel, scraping and scraping, removed ancient layers of dust. And... a large area completely blackened by fire and soot emerged. Our architect revealed the cause: in the past, braziers were lit directly on the stone floor, even without a chimney area. So, what to do, since the stones have absorbed all the blackness? Emanuele suggests following the slope of the ancient structure, possibly traceable back to the first mill nucleus. The result is an original asymmetric "capanna" (hut-style) plaster.
We love it! And so, between dust, anti-termite treatment, and wood preservative, we begin taking care of our little house.
In the meantime, the screeds are also ready!
The emotions we’ve felt are beautiful. This is truly our home!
